On GNU/Linux and Philosophy

Linux is an Operating system kernel initially developed by Linus Torvalds and later on improved and matured to a state we see today through community participation. The name of this Operating System in its complete form is GNU/Linux for technical and philosophical reasons.

Information on Tri(G)LUG

Tri(G)LUG is the Trivandrum GNU/Linux Users Group functioning as the meeting place of GNU/Linux enthusiasts in Trivandrum since 1998. More on history and evolution of the Users Group can be found in the history page. Tri(G)LUG is a volunteers-driven virtual organization which conducts monthly eyeball meeting and seminars on GNU/Linux and related topics besides running a mail list.

GNU/Linux, being an Operating System developed through community process, is best advocated and supported through community process. This is the major reason for the existence of Tri(G)LUG — a place to share your experience with and your findings on GNU/Linux.
